Information For Artists
Entries are now open for the second Illawarra Portrait Prize. Following the success of our 2023 event, we are excited to be holding it again for the Illawarra. Dedicated to showcasing our regions amazing art and artists, this is your opportunity to be a part of our vibrant art community celebrating your talents.
With a variety of prizes this is the only portrait prize within the Illawarra and offers a chance to share your talent and insight.

SUBMISSIONS:
Entry forms can be downloaded or picked up in person from Alison K Lawther Artist Studio, Timbermill Gallery, Bulli.
Email your submission with pictures of your artwork to alisonklart@gmail.com along with remittance of payment.

SELECTION OF WORKS:
The successful entries (finalists) are selected by the organisers, and the prize winners are selected by a panel of local artists and dignitaries. The People’s Choice is selected by members of the public attending the opening night.
Prize winners will be announced at the opening night and published on the Alison K Lawther Artist Studio and Timbermill Gallery website and social media pages. The judges’ decision is final, and no correspondence shall be entered into.
Artists will be asked to provide additional information (such as biographical details and a statement about the work) to assist with preparation of prize-related material.

ENTRY TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

The artist grants Alison K Lawther Artist Studio and Timbermill Gallery permission to display their entered artwork.

Artworks must have been completed within the past 18 months.

Artworks must be original. The artist warrants that the work is their original work and does not infringe the copyright, moral rights or other rights of any third party.

Must be a painting, may be in any medium (e.g. oil, acrylic, watercolour, mixed media).

Maximum size: 105cm high x 105cm wide (including frame).

Works must have suitable D-rings and wire/strings and be ready for hanging.

Artist’s name, contact details and title of work must be on the back of artwork.

A 30% commission shall apply to sale of artworks.

Artwork must stay at Timbermill Gallery for the duration of the Exhibition.

It is expected that the Artist will contribute to opening night by attending, inviting clients,

friends and family.

Collection of artworks, by purchasers or artists shall take place on 29 June 2025 by 4.00pm (non-collection fee of $5 per day will apply).
